Gesine Heinrich is a German singer, songwriter, composer and record producer. She writes original songs in 5 languages and has set Dante and Shakespeare to music. In 2013 she was the support act for Herbert Groenemeyer at Irving Plaza, New York City. Since 2018 Gesine has released 6 albums and 4 singles.

As a writer for SWR2-ARD (German Radio and Television Network) she regularly hosts the shows SWR2 Musikpassagen and SWR2 Lost in music.

Gesine Heinrich, born in Lemgo, grew up in Bad Salzuflen, North Rhine-Westphalia.
She holds a masters’s degree in philosophy and German studies from the University of Freiburg. While earning her M.A. degree, which culminated in a thesis on Immanuel Kant’s Critique of Judgement, she studied voice and drama in Freiburg (Robert Linz), Berlin (Janet Williams) and New York City (David L. Jones).
Since 1999, Gesine Heinrich has been working as a writer, director, moderator and actress for ARD – the German Radio & Television Network.
Since 2001, she has been performing internationally as a singer, actress and multilingual songwriter with a variety of solo shows, among them 5 x LOVE, a solo show with original songs in five languages. In 2007 and 2009 Gesine Heinrich accompanied the Austrian author Daniel Glattauer on his reading tours as the voice of Emmi Rothner, portrayed in his international bestselling novels Love virtually (Gut gegen Nordwind) and Every seventh wave (Alle sieben Wellen).
In 2011 she gave her New York debut at the Cabaret-Club Don´t Tell Mama. Since then she has been performing at such important music and jazz clubs as Birdland, Feinstein‘s/54 Below, The Metropolitan Room, The Kitano, Lenox Lounge Harlem, Village Underground and Ashford & Simpson´s Sugar Bar. In 2012 she was sponsored artist of the German Forum New York. Gesine Heinrich was invited by the German Consulate General, New York City, for a concert on September 11 2013 celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty between France and Germany and the Franco-German Partnership.
On September 16 2013 Gesine Heinrich was the support act for German rock star Herbert Groenemeyer at Irving Plaza, New York.
In July 2019 her Rose Ausländer-Songs – settings of a selection of the English poems the Jiddish poet wrote in New York City (1946-56) – world premiered at Gerhart-Hauptmann-Haus, Duesseldorf.

Her first studio album Don’t steal my heart was digitally released on September 1st, 2018. Her second studio album What do you listen to was digitally released on February 22nd 2019. Her third studio album Sirenenzaubertränen – Shakespeare Sonette was digitally released on April 25th 2019. Her first single Il pappagallo was digitally released on September 18th 2020. Her fourth studio album was digitally relased on December 18th 2020. Her second single was digitally released on February 19th 2021. Her fifth studio album Gesine Heinrich sings Dante‘s Inferno – 1 (The Divine Comedy was digitally relased on December 31st 2021. Her sixth studio album Gesine Heinrich sings Dante‘s Inferno – 2 (The Divine Comedy) was digitally relased on March 25th 2022. Her third single Die Sonne ist rot was digitally released on June 6th 2022. Her fourth single Do you remember was digitally released on September 9th 2022.
